In this blog post, I have decided that I am going to analysis the film poster of 'A Nightmare on Elm Street'. The genre of this film is slasher, horror and thriller as it is about a group of teenagers in American getting killed by a disfigured midnight mangler named freddy Krueger in their dreams then reality.
- The main focus of the film poster is Freddy Kruger himself as he is the main antagonist of the film. This will attract an audience because he is a well known villian.
- The lighting of the film poster is quite dark which helps portray the genre of the film to be a horror.
- The title of the film 'A nightmare on elm street' uses the biggest text in the frame to emphasis the name and make people want to remember it to watch.
- The title name is written is red so it stands out but it could also link to the blood, gore and violence that is going to happen in the film
- The tagline "welcome to your nightmares" is also written in white font just above the title to make it stand out and attract the audience
- Institutional information is written in the block of writing at the bottom of the poster
- The release date of 04. 30. 10 is write in bigger letters at the bottom of the poster in red font so that it stsnds out and audiences know exactly when the film is being released
- In the main image of Freddy Kruger, you can clearly see the knives as fingers on the main antagonist which emphasises the slasher genre of the film
